If you look really closely, you can find me in one of these pics. No, not the one with Bill Murray because I’m a moron and I left early.
I’m heading back to this loft tonight and I know he won’t be there, but here’s to hoping. (Sigh)

I see the city peaking through Brooklyn from my window pane. There’s so much out there and I find the proximity very comforting. I have routes that take me through my favorite neighborhoods in minutes, giving me access to beauty days, shopping days, people watching days or just aimless wandering days. I would only trade this for a fiscally responsible career shift in Paris or Barcelona and...
Staycation Day whatever
It’s been well over a week since I’ve set foot in the office and I feel refreshed, happy and at peace with the world. What a wonderful way to start the new year….
Someone is trying to keep me on retainer. Thanks to the magical spying powers of Facebook, I’ve lost all interest in the fling but I can’t help but wonder how I would feel once it was tangible again. I was in a sweet daze during the days following the chance encounter and it’s a feeling I’d like to cherish again. Something tells me the accent played a big part in that. I am...

A few nights ago my friend Jason and I met the Rick Cormier’s daughter at a bar in Williamsburg. I’m not sure how this conversation even happened, but she told us that her father is a competitive parody song writer and jotted down his name for us to Google. Both of us were amused and intrigued, so Jason made sure to link me to the page to remind me of the strange discovery. The link...
Yellow Split-Pea Soup with Sweet Potatoes and... →
I made a curried yellow split pea soup today and came across the recipe linked above later on in the day. It sounds absolutely delicious and only contains about six extra ingredients from the recipe I made up yesterday. I’m going to sub spinach for the kale as well as olive oil for canola. Staycation Cuisine at it’s finest…
Staycation Day One
Doing absolutely nothing all day comes very easily to me. Sure, I mailed some packages, bought some groceries and went to the gym… but I didn’t get to any of this until 4:00 p.m. I’ve set some goals for tomorrow but who knows how quickly I’ll really get to them. It’s alllllll about relaxing right now.
MillerCoors to stop selling Sparks →
rickyv:
I used to say that Sparks is what homeless people would drink if they understood cost/benefit analysis.
R.I.P. Sparks, I’ve had a lot of fun with you in my body.
Shamefully, I mourn this loss. But only the low carb one.

Still feeling dazed and whimsical. During an important meeting where someone jokingly mentioned space camp, I snapped out of a daydream and informed the group that the only way one could attend was by winning Double Dare. I left it at that and let the meeting continue without saying a word. There was a point where my coworker had to text message just to reel me back in before the boss took...
